My dad was a ranch hand cowboy and my four sisters and I grew up breaking horses and cowboying with him. In 2021 I was in a car accident that resulted in an incomplete spinal cord injury. I had to relearn how to walk and ride. I was determined to get horse back again and after 4 months I was helping gather and load trucks. Being a cowgirl to me means having a never quit attitude. We are tuff enough to work right next to men and gentle enough to raise their babies. My dad taught me a lot about cowboying and horseman ship but so did my grandma and sister. A lot of my pictures have my sister ruby in them because she taught me so much while I worked with her and her husband. I still rope and ride but don’t cowboy anymore as my injury doesn’t hold up to it. I feel the most like myself when I’m horse back. I think being a cowgirl never leaves you. Especially not the mindset.
